Annual Commemoration Ceremony – Funeral Service – Even through tears I see the sun’s dear light!
Meditation and Prayer
Don't you feel it when I cry for you, are you really ready? And yet you are the most beautiful thing to me, the one thing I wear it for, loneliness. Let, o world, o let me be! Do not tempt with gifts of love, let this heart alone have its joy and its pain! What I mourn I do not know, it is unknown woe.
Even through tears I see the sun's dear light. Often I'm hardly aware of it, and the bright joy tears through the heaviness, so blissfully presses me in my chest. Let, o world, o let me be! Do not tempt with gifts of love, let this heart alone have its joy and its pain!
Annual Commemoration
How are you now, my soul? Far away from all the markets of life, you can now fully enjoy yourself. No question from human lips demands an answer. No speech or counter-speech makes you mean. only with heaven and earth do you hold lonely communion. And you prefer to free your quiet happiness, your quiet woe in wordless songs. How are you now, my soul? Far away from all the markets of life, you can now fully enjoy yourself.
Why don't I curse the world and mankind? - Because I feel the person I'm looking for! Like a cloudy cloud passing through clear air, when a faint breeze is blowing in the fir tree tops: So I make my way there with lazy foot, through bright, happy life, lonely and without greeting. Ah, that lust is so quiet, that the world is so bright! When the storms were still raging, I wasn't so miserable.
